What period of Scripture deals with Israel as God's earthly people?

The period covering the Old Testament, the Abrahamic covenant, Christ's earthly ministry, and the early chapters of Acts deals with Israel as God's earthly people. Israel's promises, Temple, and expectations were earthly, not heavenly. This earthly program continues until God finishes His dealings with Israel, after which the heavenly Body of Christ and the thousand-year reign come into view.

Les teaches that all the way up through the Old Testament, dealing with the nation of Israel under the Abrahamic covenant, including Christ's earthly ministry and the early chapters of Acts, is dealing with God's earthly people, Israel. Israel had nothing but earthly promises, and the Jew knew nothing of dying and going to heaven. Job spoke of seeing his Redeemer stand on the earth and seeing God in his flesh. Israel's Temple was in Jerusalem and was earthly, connected to the Shekinah glory. By contrast, from Paul's commissioning to go to the Gentiles, the Body of Christ is heavenly, while Israel is earthly. Les explains that this period of human history will come together after God finishes winding up everything with His earthly people, and then comes the thousand years when He will be King of kings and Lord of lords, with everything earthly and heavenly under His reign.
