Why is careful Bible study important?
Careful Bible study is important because many significant truths are often glossed over or overlooked when Scripture is read casually, and those matters are too important to be treated that way. Searching the Scriptures carefully helps readers learn what God's Word actually says rather than skipping over vital details.
Les explains that he does not expect everyone to agree with him on everything, but his goal is to get people to study their Bible and learn to read it more carefully. He notes that many times things are just glossed over, and those things are too important for that. He encourages listeners to get the book and search the Scriptures with him, and he wants to move directly into the text because there is so much to cover. In the context of Matthew 4, Christ is about to begin His earthly ministry to prove to the nation of Israel who He was, so careful attention to Scripture matters.
