How is biblical peace different from the world's peace?

Scripture teaches that peace is more than the absence of war. It is the whole sphere of good things God is ready to pour out, but He cannot until Christ is King. Established on David's throne with judgment and justice, it comes by God Himself, not by man or the United Nations.

Les explains that the world craves peace, usually meaning only the absence of war. But peace in Scripture means far more: it is the whole sphere of good things God is ready to pour out, yet He cannot bring it until Christ is King. Then the increase of His government and peace will have no end, established upon the throne of David with judgment and justice forever. Man cannot produce it, and the United Nations cannot produce it; God Himself will bring it in. Les also stresses watching key words like covenant and kingdom, and understanding the Old Testament foundation, because ignoring it causes confusion among Christians today.
