How foundational is the Abrahamic covenant to the rest of Scripture?

The Abrahamic covenant is absolutely foundational. All the rest of the Old Testament, from Genesis 12 onward into the New Testament, rests on this covenant. Other covenants follow—with Moses, with Israel, and with David—but the Abrahamic covenant remains the bedrock promise undergirding Scripture's unfolding story.

Les teaches that the Abrahamic covenant is the foundation for all that follows. He explains that the prospect of a coming righteous, glorious monarchy ruled by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords was laid out in the Abrahamic covenant. He states that all the rest of the Old Testament, from Genesis 12 right on into the New Testament, is resting on this covenant. While God makes other covenants—with Moses and Israel regarding the Law and the land, and with David regarding a royal family leading to the King—these do not replace the Abrahamic covenant. Les then directs listeners to Isaiah chapter 9, verse 6, as an example.
