What was the prospect that God gave Abraham?

The prospect given to Abraham was that out of the nation of Israel would come a King—the Messiah—who would not only rule Israel but extend that rule to the whole planet through Israel. This King would establish government, preventing anarchy, and fulfill the Abrahamic Covenant promise of a nation, land, and divine rule.

Les explains that the prospect given to Abraham was that Israel's coming King, the Messiah, would not merely rule the nation of Israel but would spread that rule to the whole planet through Israel. This is the Abrahamic Covenant concept beginning in Genesis chapter 12: God chose one man, promised to make of him a nation, give that nation a geographical land, and at some point God Himself would set up the government, because a people in a land cannot function without government—otherwise anarchy. The nation became viable in Egypt, came out under Moses, entered the Promised Land under Joshua, was ruled by judges for over 400 years, then asked for a king. Saul failed, and David followed.
