What did the Abrahamic Covenant involve when it began in Genesis 12?

This covenant involved God singling out one man, Abraham, and telling him He would make of him a nation of people, take that nation and place it into a geographical area of land, and at some point down the road God Himself would come and set up the government over them.

Les explains that the Abrahamic Covenant, beginning with Genesis chapter 12, involved God putting His finger on one man and telling him, “I’m going to make of you a nation of people, I’m going to take that nation of people, and I’m going to give them and put them into a geographical area of land.” Les then notes that at some point down the road God Himself would come and set up the government, because people in a geographical area cannot have a functioning society without government; otherwise there is anarchy. Les also connects this prospect to Abraham: out of the nation of Israel would come a King who would not only rule Israel but spread that rule to the whole planet through Israel.
