Where does the Abrahamic Covenant begin?

The Abrahamic Covenant begins at Genesis chapter 12. There God singles out Abraham, promising to make of him a nation, give that nation a land, and eventually establish government. This covenant also includes the prospect that a King from Israel would rule the whole planet.

Les teaches that the Abrahamic Covenant begins with Genesis chapter 12, where God puts His finger on one man. He tells him, 'I'm going to make of you a nation of people, I'm going to take that nation of people, and I'm going to give them and put them into a geographical area of land.' Then at some point down the road, God Himself would come and set up the government, because you can't have people in a geographical area without government. Les also notes that this was the prospect given to Abraham that out of Israel would come a King who would not just rule Israel but spread that rule to the whole planet through Israel. The nation of Israel became a nation in Egypt in slavery, came out under Moses, entered the Promised Land under Joshua, was ruled by judges for 400 and some years, then asked for a king; Saul was the first king but a total flop, and then David was next.
