Under grace, what counts as a commandment?
Under grace, every instruction of God becomes a commandment. The term does not necessarily refer to the Ten Commandments. Once believers are past being under the Law and are under grace, all of God's instructions carry the force of a commandment.
Les explains that when the word 'commandments' is used in a passage like Ephesians 2, it does not necessarily mean the Ten Commandments. He notes that once we get past being under the Law and get under grace, every instruction of God becomes a commandment. So under grace, the category of commandment is broader—it includes all divine directives, not just the Ten.
Ephesians 2:14
