Why shouldn't we try to picture God with a face?
We shouldn't try to picture God with a face because God is eternal and is Spirit. Though believers shall see His face, He is not a physical being that can be reduced to a face. Attempting to put a face on God is difficult and not appropriate.
Les explains that it is hard for us to put a face on God, and he does not think we should even try, because God is eternal and He is Spirit. Revelation 22 speaks of believers seeing His face, but that future promise does not mean God should be pictured with a physical face now. The emphasis is on God's eternal, spiritual nature, not a limited bodily form.
