Why should we not try to picture Christ in the flesh even though He is in heaven at the Father's right hand?
We should not try to picture Christ in the flesh because God is so beyond anything that we can put together; human imagination cannot rightly contain or represent His divine reality. Although He is in heaven at the Father's right hand as the God-man, we will ultimately see Him face to face.
Les explains that Christ the God-man is in heaven at the Father's right hand, but even so, we should not try to picture Him in the flesh, because God is so beyond anything we can put together. The contrast is that now we cannot rightly image Him, but when we finally get into His presence, we will see Him face to face. Les adds that eternity will be personal: even though there may be billions of participants, each individual remains an individual whom God knows personally, and we will know Him personally. This is mind-boggling, but the Word teaches it, and Les personally believes it. In that eternal state there will be no night, no need of candle or sun, for the Lord God gives light, and we will reign with Him over the new planet forever.
