Why is the Kingdom described as lasting a thousand years in Revelation but as forever in the Old Testament?
The Old Testament described the coming King and Kingdom as forever and eternal, but Revelation attaches a time frame of a thousand years. That period begins after Christ returns, destroys remaining armies and rebellion, and the earth is restored to an Eden-like condition. The Kingdom itself remains eternal.
Les teaches that the Kingdom was prophesied all the way through the Old Testament—the coming of the King and Kingdom, when Israel shall reign gloriously. The Old Testament speaks of it as forever, and this Kingdom is going to be eternal. However, it is not until Revelation that a time frame is attached to it of a thousand years. After the seven years are consummated, Christ returns, destroys the remaining armies and all those still in rebellion, the earth is brought back to an Eden-like condition, and then comes the thousand years.
