What have most people done with God throughout history?
Throughout human history, by far the largest percentage of people have rejected God and kept Him out of their lives. They have attempted to thwart Him, which is foolishness. This pattern of excluding God from one's life stands as humanity's predominant response to Him.
Les explains that since people are dealing with the kind of God who is infinite and beyond space, it is foolish for man to even attempt to thwart or reject Him. Yet down through human history, by far the largest percentage of men have done exactly that—they have kept God out of their lives. Les also expresses alarm about the younger generation, who seem to have no concept of God, eternity, or spiritual things, living only for the here and now and the gratification of the flesh.
