Where does the Bible first give the kingdom a time frame of a thousand years?
The Bible first attaches a specific thousand-year time frame to the kingdom in the book of Revelation. The Old Testament foretold the kingdom and spoke of it as forever, but only Revelation introduces the thousand-year period, after the seven-year tribulation and Christ's return, before the eternal kingdom.
Les teaches that the kingdom has been spoken of and prophesied all the way up through the Old Testament—the coming of the King and the Kingdom, when Israel shall reign gloriously. The Old Testament speaks of it as forever, an eternal kingdom. But it is not until Revelation that a time frame of a thousand years is attached to it. In Revelation, after the seven-year tribulation, Christ returns, destroys the remaining armies and all those still in rebellion, the earth is brought back to an Eden-like condition, and then comes the thousand years. This thousand-year period follows the tribulation and precedes the eternal kingdom.
