Is every believer equally important in the body of Christ?

Yes. Paul teaches that every believer is equally important in the body of Christ, regardless of role or visibility. No member can claim to be at the top, and God has placed each member in the body as it pleased Him, so each one matters in function.

Les explains Paul’s physical-body analogy: the foot cannot say it is not part of the body because it is not a hand, and the ear cannot say it is not part of the body because it is not an eye. Paul makes the point so simply that it seems ridiculous, yet it shows that no one in the body of Christ can claim to be at the top of the heap. Whether a believer’s role is visible or invisible, they are just as important in the overall function of the body. God has set every member in the body as it pleased Him, so every believer is in the place God puts them. It is up to each believer to say, “Here I am, use me,” though Les warns you may be surprised how God will take hold and start using you. The body is comprised of all believers.

For the body is not one member, but many.
