Do believers in the body of Christ lose their individuality?
No. Members of the body of Christ retain their individuality, each having a unique place in that body, while also being joined together as one. The Holy Spirit places genuine believers into the body, and that spiritual oneness does not erase individual identity.
Les explains that as members of the body of Christ, believers still maintain their individuality and each has a unique place in that body, yet they are all one. He illustrates this by noting that when you walk into a room full of fellow believers, you are not a stranger very long; people from far-off states have told him that the minute they stepped into the room, they felt at home. That oneness is something any other group of people can never experience. Only the saved are placed into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, and that baptism is the only one that counts for eternity.
