What does the Holy Spirit do to our dead spirit to convict us of sin?
The Holy Spirit begins to work on the dormant, dead spirit with which every person is born. When a person is old enough to understand, the Spirit convicts them that they are sinners and have broken the Law that the soul that sinneth must surely die.
Les explains that the Holy Spirit works on the dormant dead spirit we are born with. When we come to the age where we understand these things, the Spirit begins to convict us that we are indeed sinners and that we have broken that Law—the soul that sinneth must surely die. Les then notes God has provided a loophole: though I have to die because I have sinned, God has provided someone who died that death in my place.
