What does the Holy Spirit give us to confront the old nature?

In contrast, those after the flesh still live in the realm of old Adam, know nothing of God’s saving grace, and mind the things of the flesh; the majority of the world seeks only to gratify the flesh, with no concept of eternity or spiritual things.
