Why can’t the UN or human aid meet the needs of people who have absolutely nothing?

Human aid and organizations like the UN cannot meet the needs of people with absolutely nothing because such abject poverty is beyond their capacity to touch; they have no hope of ever coming out of it by any human means. The only hope for these masses is the Lord's return.

Les explains that while viewing film clips of Russia, the Arab world, and third-world areas of abject poverty, he and Iris witnessed in Haiti that people have no hope of ever coming out of it, in spite of anything the UN or anybody else can do. Human efforts can never begin to touch the needs of these masses who have absolutely nothing of this world's goods. The Haitian Christians' only hope was that the Lord would come, because they'll never get out of it any other way. He contrasts this with America's abundance, where people do not hanker for the Lord's return as Paul did, yet even so, what is up there is far better.
