Can good works get you into heaven?
No. Good works cannot get you into heaven. People do not get to heaven by working their way in or by what they do; even good people can stand before the Great White Throne if they did not believe the Gospel. Salvation comes by simply believing that Christ's death has done it all.
Les explains that those standing before the Great White Throne are lost because they did not believe the Gospel. Though their sins were atoned for, they did not appropriate God's grace and love and believe it for salvation. They stand in unbelief and give an account of every word and deed in their life of rebellion. The works mentioned are not the basis of salvation; many awful good people will be there, people who had no intention of missing heaven but did not realize you don't get to heaven by working your way in or by what you do. We get to heaven by simply believing that Christ's death has done it all.
