Why will there be so much room in the new earth?
The new earth will be so large because the New Jerusalem is 1,500 miles long, wide, and high, requiring a tremendous planet to hold it and keep it in orbit. This provides ample room for eternal bodies, preventing any massing together or crowding.
Les explains that the new earth is going to be so huge that there will not be any massing together of our eternal bodies; instead, we will have ample room. He bases this on the New Jerusalem being 1,500 miles long, 1,500 miles wide, and 1,500 miles high, which will take a tremendous planet to hold it and keep it in orbit. So we should never think we will be cramped for room when we get to glory. He also mentions that some day a person may have a planet all their own to rule and reign over, and it will be fabulous.
