Where are believers who have died right now, and do they have their bodies?
Believers who have died are in paradise, in the presence of God, existing in soul and spirit rather than in their bodies. They are not yet bodily in heaven; they await the future resurrection day, when they will receive resurrected bodies.
Les explains that Paul tells believers not to be ignorant about those who have died or are asleep in Jesus. The only qualification for being in this number of saints is believing the Gospel, not church membership, baptism, or other works. Those who have died as believers are in paradise, in God's presence, in soul and spirit, not bodily. They are waiting for the resurrection day and cannot have a resurrected body until then, so Les does not accept the idea that they are already walking streets of gold.
I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
