Why is Babylon as the whole world system more believable today?

It is more believable today because the world is getting smaller and more closely knit through the internet, computers, and the financial world. Trillions of dollars can transfer in split seconds over computer networks, making a unified global religious, political, and economic system seem increasingly plausible.

Les teaches that Babylon in Revelation represents the whole world system—the final global economy that is religious, political, and economic. He explains that when he taught this years ago, he already maintained Babylon was simply the whole world system, but today it is far more believable than 20 years ago. The reason is that the world is getting smaller and more closely knit through the internet, computers, and the financial world; trillions of dollars can be transferred in split seconds over computer networks. He connects this to Revelation 18:4, where God says, 'Come out of her my people,' so they are not partakers of her sins or plagues in the tribulation period. The passage also declares her sins have reached heaven and God will reward her double.
