What does being bought with a price mean for how God sees believers?

Being bought with a price means believers are not their own. God sees them as something special in His eyes and in His program, because their body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and both body and spirit belong to God.

Les explains that the believer's body is the temple or dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, who is a person indwelling our person and was imparted to us by God at salvation. Because we are not our own and have been bought with a price, we are something special in God's eyes and in His program. Les also notes that God cannot use us if we are amalgamated with the world. Verse 20 therefore says, "For you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God with your body, and in your spirit, both of which of course are God's." He then says the same thought appears in 1 Corinthians chapter 3.

1 Corinthians 6:20

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
