What does Satan fail to realize when he gathers the armies of the world?

Satan fails to realize that gathering the world’s armies into Israel will become the final battle between himself and Almighty God. Instead of eliminating the Jewish problem, his campaign will end when God destroys those assembled armies with a tremendous hailstorm of hundred-pound hailstones.

Les teaches that when Satan gathers all the armies of the world into the land of Israel, he actually feels as though he can finally and once and for all get rid of the Jewish problem. That is the main reason he calls all the armies to the Middle East. But he does not realize that it is going to turn into that final battle between himself and the Almighty God. As Les explains, God then destroys all of these accumulated armies there in the land of Israel with a tremendous hailstorm of hundred-pound hailstones. The Scripture analogy is like bringing the grapes into a wine vat: the armies are packed primarily into the valley of Megiddo and likened to a wine vat, and they are destroyed there with that final bold judgment of hundred-pound hailstones, accompanied by a river of blood and water that will run as deep as the bridles and the horses’ bits. Revelation chapter 18 then gives the full view of how the whole world system will finally come to its end.
