Where is Armageddon and what does the word Armageddon come from?

Armageddon is the place where the sovereign God gathers the nations, called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon, and the word comes from Megiddo. Megiddo is an ancient city in Israel, where from its hill and ruins one looks northeast across a beautiful flat valley.

Les explains that the Antichrist will do something like a unified military call, using demonic creatures and miracles to convince the kings and leaders of the nations to send their armies to the Middle East. Yet behind it all is the sovereign God, who gathers them together in the place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. The word Armageddon comes from Megiddo. Megiddo is an ancient city in Israel, now an archaeological and tourist attraction. From the hill of Megiddo, among its ruins and Solomon's horse stalls, one looks northeast across a beautiful flat valley in the small Middle East.

Revelation 16:16
