Why will believers be busy in heaven instead of idle?
Believers will be busy because God never created people to be idle; He created them to be active and productive. The new earth continues the kingdom economy, an earth of tremendous production and activity, where Christ is all in all and believers are intensely busy, active, and glorious rather than bored.
Les explains that after the millennial reign, the present earth is burned up, and then there is a new heaven and a new earth. That new earth will be the abode of those who have believed unto eternal life, with Christ all in all, and it will be an extension of the kingdom economy. It will be an earth of tremendous production and tremendous activity. Les tells his classes we are not going to sit around getting bored, not sit up there just strumming on a harp or sitting someplace doing nothing but shouting hallelujah, although that will certainly be part and parcel. We are going to be intensely busy, active, and it will be glorious. The reason is that God never created us to be idle; He created beings like you and I to be active and busy. The kingdom is limited to a thousand years, interrupted for just a short spell, and then we go into the eternal, which Les thinks is based on that same pattern.
