Do the locusts in Revelation represent helicopters?
The context treats it as a possibility rather than a settled interpretation. It suggests the locusts or horse-like creatures may be the ancients' way of picturing modern-day helicopters. The speaker also says these are possibilities and elsewhere connects similar imagery to tanks or modern warfare.
Les explains that it is not so remote a possibility that some of these horse-like creatures or locusts may be the ancients' way of picturing our modern-day helicopters. He had thought of it before, and Alice brought it out, and he said, 'Yes, that's exactly what I've thought before.' He recalls a television series about a super helicopter whose opening scene showed it coming just over the breasts of the hill, almost giving goosebumps, with feats almost beyond reason. But he calls these possibilities. He also teaches that Revelation 9:17 may be the ancient language for tanks: breastplates of fire, jafts of brimstone, heads of horses like lions, and out of their mouths issued fire, smoke, and brimstone. He connects this to modern warfare with nuclear shells for artillery and tank guns. Then with 200 million men and the weapons of war, by these three—fire, smoke, and brimstone—the third part of men is killed.
