How long does the sting of the locusts in Revelation 9:10 hurt?

Revelation 9:10 describes locusts having tails like scorpions with stings in their tails, and their power was to hurt men for five months per sting. That five-month duration is the length given for the sting's harm. This period is stated as five months.

Les explains that these locusts will be so numerous and huge that the sound of their wings is like many chariots. Verse 10 gives them tails like scorpions with stings, and their power is to hurt men five months per sting, which he calls beyond our comprehension. He notes they have a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit, named Abaddon in Hebrew and Apollyon in Greek, meaning the destroyer. He thinks this angel is not Satan but probably one of Satan's cohorts. Verse 12 then says one woe is past and two more are to come.
