What does the 'kingdom' refer to in Revelation 12:10?
The kingdom in Revelation 12:10 refers to the glorious kingdom God will rule and reign upon the earth. It has been in view since the beginning of human experience, and here it is announced as getting close after Satan is cast down and the accuser of the brethren is defeated.
Les explains that Revelation 12:10 follows the war in heaven, where Michael and the holy angels fought and defeated Satan, and he was cast out after having his final access into the throne room or heaven. The verse declares, "now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ." Les emphasizes that this kingdom has been in view ever since the beginning of the human experience: it is the glorious kingdom that God is going to rule and reign upon the earth. Now it is beginning to get close, so the angelic host can announce it. The verse also says the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before God day and night. Les notes that Satan is the accuser, and he accuses you and me every time we sin, constantly letting the Lord know where we have failed.
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
