Since when has the Bible depicted the Messiah ruling the world?
Scripture has depicted the Messiah ruling the world since the onset of human history. The promise that He would rule all nations with a rod of iron and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords has been set forth from humanity's earliest days, pointing to His future kingdom over the world.
Les explains that Revelation 12 presents Israel as the woman who brought forth the man-child, the Messiah. Satan, the dragon, stood before the woman ready to devour the child as soon as it was born, even prompting the decree to kill all boy babies under age two. But the child was caught up unto God and His throne, a reference to the Ascension. Les points out that the One who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron has been depicted ever since the onset of human history as the future ruler of the world, King of kings and Lord of lords.
