What does the black horse in Revelation 6 indicate?

The black horse in Revelation 6 indicates the great death and destruction that comes as a result of famine. It appears among the seal judgments opened from the scroll, following the pale horse, which symbolizes famine and disease, and shows that widespread starvation produces deadly consequences during those end-time events.

Les teaches that Revelation 6 presents the seals on the outside of the scroll from Revelation 5, which was indicative of a mortgage. The white horse symbolizes the coming of the Antichrist, the red horse symbolizes the Russian invasion, and the pale horse symbolizes famine and disease. Then the black horse indicates the great death and destruction that will come as a result of the famine. These seals are triggering mechanisms for events in time. The chapter then comes to verse 12 and the sixth seal; the seventh seal is covered later because it introduces the trumpet judgments that follow after the midpoint.
