How do the seven seals trigger events in time?

The seals function as triggering mechanisms on the scroll from Revelation 5, a mortgage. Opening each seal releases specified events in time: the white horse brings Antichrist, red horse Russian invasion, pale horse famine and disease, black horse death and destruction from famine, with the sixth seal opened at verse 12.

Les explains that Revelation 6 shows the seals on the outside of the scroll from Revelation 5, which was indicative of a mortgage. Opening those seals is described as taking off the triggering mechanisms for events in time. The first seal, the white horse, symbolizes the coming Antichrist. The red horse symbolizes the Russian invasion. The pale horse symbolizes famine and disease. The black horse indicates the great death and destruction that comes as a result of the famine. The sixth seal is opened at verse 12. The seventh seal is not covered yet because it will introduce the trumpet judgments that follow after the midpoint. In the surrounding context, the days are shortened so that flesh—believers going into the kingdom—will survive, because flesh and blood believers are needed for the regeneration of the human race in the kingdom economy.
