To teach Revelation properly, one must understand three divisions of the seven-year tribulation period: what happens at the beginning, what happens in the middle, and what happens at the end. The midpoint is after three and a half years, or 42 months, when Antichrist's power continues another three and a half years.

At the midpoint, after three and a half years, or 42 months, the sacrifice and oblation cease and the abomination of desolation occurs. Revelation 13:5 shows power given to him to continue, bringing the reader to the midpoint of the tribulation; he will continue another three and a half years.
