What is the purpose of the conspiracy against America according to Les?

Les explains that ever since he was a young man it seemed there was a conspiracy to destroy the United States of America, and he still thinks so. He points to the post–World War II Marshall Plan, which rebuilt Europe with American dollars, followed by industry leaving, oil coming from foreign suppliers, industry farmed out to Japan and Mexico, and the steel business almost gone. The best word he finds is a conspiracy to bleed beloved America dry. All of it, he says, is to enhance the revival of the ancient Roman Empire, the ten nations of the European community, and it fits the end-time picture.
