What did the nations listed in Ezekiel 38 have in common before the fall of Communism?
Before Communism fell, the nations listed in Ezekiel 38 formed a consortium that was either already Communist or on the verge of becoming Communist. Persia, now Iran, and Ethiopia are named; Ethiopia was a hotbed of Communism in Africa, as part of the northern confederation.
Les teaches that the nations listed in Ezekiel 38 will come as a consortium with the Russians, or the Northern Confederation, down to the hills and mountains of Israel. Especially before Communism fell apart, all of these nations were either already Communist or right on the verge of becoming so. The passage names Persia—today called Iran—and Ethiopia, which until a year or two earlier was a hotbed of Communism in Africa. God will turn the Russian forces away from Western Europe and bring them down into the Middle East, but not Russia alone.
