How will God direct Russian forces in the end times?
God will literally turn Russian forces away from Western Europe and bring them down into the Middle East, not Russia alone but with a Northern Confederation of nations such as Persia, now Iran, and Ethiopia, descending to the hills and mountains of Israel for the Battle of Armageddon.
Les explains that this is contrary to the world's general thinking: the Russian forces will not concern themselves with Western Europe because that is the domain of the Antichrist. That power has to be in place for the Battle of Armageddon. Les notes that prophetically only three areas are involved in the last days of the Tribulation or Armageddon—Western Europe, the Orient, and parts of Africa—and nothing in prophecy involves the Russian hordes or the Western Hemisphere in that last great battle. God will turn the Russian forces away from Western Europe and bring them down into the Middle East, but not Russia alone. A consortium, or Northern Confederation, includes nations listed in verse 5, such as Persia, now called Iran, and Ethiopia, who come with the Russians down to the hills and mountains of Israel.
