What did Jesus say when John was upset that no one could open the scroll in Revelation 5?

When John was distressed that no one could open the scroll, God the Son came before God the Father and said, 'I'll do it. I'll pay off that mortgage.' John understood He could do it because He had already accomplished the work of the cross and, as Son of David and Son of God, could fulfill all demands.

Les explains that the scene pictures God the Father on the throne and God the Son at the Father's right hand, not on the throne. When John is all shook up that no one is able to open the scroll, God the Son comes before God the Father and says, 'I'll do it. I'll pay off that mortgage.' John assumes He can do it because He has already accomplished the work of the cross. He is also depicted throughout the Old Testament as the Son of David and the Son of God, and so in kinship He can fulfill all those demands.
