What happens when the corruptible puts on incorruption?

When the corruptible puts on incorruption, death is finally swallowed up in victory. The believer receives a body fit for eternity, never again facing the prospect of death. This change occurs at the resurrection of the Church Age Believer, when the dead are raised and the living are changed.

Les explains that in verses 52-53, Paul is writing to the Church, so the resurrection in view is only for the Body of Christ. It does not include Old Testament believers, and it cannot include the tribulation because that has not yet happened. The dead will be raised first, naturally with their new body, and then we who are alive and living shall be changed. Why? Because the corruptible body, which is prone to death, has to put on incorruption, and this mortal, prone to die, must put on immortality so that we can live for eternity and never die. When this corruptible puts on incorruption, we can rejoice that death is finally swallowed up in victory, and we will never again have to face the prospect of death. This all happens in a split instant.
