Who is the man-child in Revelation 12?
The man-child in Revelation 12 is the Christ child, the one born of the woman, Israel. He is destined to rule all nations with a rod of iron. After His birth He ascended and was caught up unto God and to His throne.
Les explains that in Revelation 12 the woman symbolizes the nation of Israel, and she brought forth a man-child—the Christ child. The passage leaps from His birth to the rule of His kingdom, when He will rule all nations with a rod of iron, and then back to His ascension, where her child was caught up unto God and to His throne. Les then connects verse 6 to the midpoint of the tribulation, when the woman flees into the wilderness, the mountains Jesus spoke of, to a place prepared by God where she is fed 1260 days, or 3 1/2 years. In verse 13, when the dragon is cast to the earth, he persecutes the woman, Israel.
And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
