Les Feldick Bible Study

How long will the two witnesses prophesy?

The two witnesses will prophesy for a thousand two hundred and sixty days, which equals three and a half years. This spans the first half of the seven-year period, as they proclaim salvation to Israel in Jerusalem before being killed and then called up to heaven.

Les teaches that Revelation chapter 11, verse 3, gives the time factor: God says, "I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days." Les explains that this is three and a half years. He places their ministry at the very onset of the seven years, when Israel signs the treaty, and says God will send the two witnesses to Jerusalem. These two Jews proclaim salvation to the nation of Israel at the beginning of the seven years. Les suggests that out of their ministry the 144,000 will be sealed, designated, and sent out to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom, announcing that the King is coming and will set up His Kingdom. At the end of the three and a half years, they hear a great voice from heaven saying, "Come up hither." They have been killed, and their bodies lie on the streets of Jerusalem for the whole world to see.

Revelation 11:3

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

More Questions

Are the two witnesses in the first or last half of the Tribulation?

The two witnesses will minister during the first half of the Tribulation, not the last half, because the events at the end of their ministry—their ascension and the earthquake—point to the middle of the Tribulation, not its end.

When does God send the two witnesses to Jerusalem?

God will send the two witnesses to Jerusalem at the very beginning of the seven years, right after the treaty is signed.
