Why does Paul not write about prophecy per se?

Paul does not write about prophecy as his primary subject because his writings concern the church. Yet when the church nears the fulfillment of prophecy, he includes relevant statements, such as in II Thessalonians 2 regarding the man of sin.

Les explains that Paul never writes with regard to prophecy per se, because Paul writes concerning the church. Paul's focus is the church, not prophecy as such. However, as the church bumps right up against the door of the fulfilling again of prophecy, Paul does make some statements in II Thessalonians chapter 2 concerning this man of sin, the man who will come on the scene to rule the world during the Tribulation.
