What does Paul say about having the gift of prophecy compared to other gifts?

Paul teaches that the gift of prophecy is far better than some of the other gifts, and he admonishes the Corinthians to look for it. He still stresses that this must be exercised with love, patience, and understanding, without compromising the truth or offending those he teaches.

Les explains that Paul is coming to the Corinthians in the spirit of love, and that this attitude of love, patience, and understanding must be for all believers. Paul admonishes the Corinthians to look for the gift of prophecy because it was far better than some of the other things. Yet this pursuit is not to be done in a way that offends or closes minds; rather, the truth is presented with patience and without compromise.

1 Corinthians 13:2

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
