What happened to Alexander the Great's empire after he died?

After Alexander the Great died, probably of alcoholism, at the young age of 33, his empire was immediately divided between four of his generals. Four kingdoms stood up for it, a quadrangle—the great empire divided into four divisions. This was the division of the great empire.

Les teaches that Daniel's vision uses the ram and goat to represent Medo-Persia and Greece, and the great horn between the goat's eyes is the first king, Alexander the Great. He conquered with unusual swiftness and speed, took reckless chances, and never really lost an army. But when Alexander was broken—he died, probably of alcoholism, at the young age of 33—that great empire he set up so quickly was immediately divided between four of his generals. It became a quadrangle, four kingdoms standing up out of the divided empire after Alexander was off the scene.

Daniel 8:22

Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
