What kind of kingdom does the Son set up in Daniel 7?

The Son sets up an eternal kingdom, a dominion that shall not pass away and shall not be destroyed. He establishes it after destroying the Gentile empires. Though interrupted when Satan is released for a little while, it continues into eternity through the new heaven and new earth.

Les teaches that this passage shows God the Son coming before God the Father, the Ancient of Days, to receive dominion, glory, and a kingdom. This occurs as He is about to return to earth and smite the Gentile empires that have been on human history for 2,600 years. Those empires will disappear from view, and He sets up His kingdom—a dominion that shall not pass away. Les explains that it is eternal, though it will be interrupted when Satan is released for a little while. Then comes the new heaven and the new earth, and the kingdom continues on into eternity. As the verse says, His kingdom is that which shall not be destroyed, and He has His rule and reign.
