Is the European Community today the revived Roman Empire predicted in the Bible?
Yes, the European Community is the revived Roman Empire predicted in the Bible. The context shows that what is coming out of Europe now is the very outline of the old Roman Empire, just as Scripture said it would be. Daniel and Revelation describe ten horns and a bestial government with a seeming democracy behind it.
Les explains that a secular writer described Western Europe's hatreds and problems but also its potential for a United States of Europe, reminding readers that these nations were once together in the Roman Empire. He notes that even a secular writer can see that what is coming out of Europe now is the very outline of that same old Roman Empire, exactly as Scripture said. Les further teaches that Daniel and Revelation share the same language: ten horns, a bestial government with totalitarian power like Nebuchadnezzar, the rumble of the Medes and Persians, the swiftness and tenacity of Alexander the Great's leopard empire, and all the residue of ancient Rome with a seeming democracy behind it—yet he himself will be absolute. This whole thing is coming together perfectly.
