Where did the kingdom of heaven go when Jesus went back to heaven?

Les explains that in the interim, because He is no longer on the earth, the kingdom of heaven can no longer be said to be at hand. When He went back to heaven, the kingdom went with Him into heaven. Les stresses that all through Scripture there are two entities: the nation of Israel, the earthly people of God, and the church, the heavenly people of God. He then points to Colossians chapter 1, where Paul writes to Gentiles and prays for the Colossi believers, a prayer valid for us today. In verse 12, Paul gives thanks unto the Father, who hath made us meet, or prepared us, to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. The Father has already delivered believers from the power of darkness and has already translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. So if you are a child of God, you are in the kingdom. And when Christ comes at His second coming and sets up the kingdom on the earth, believers will be with Him.
