Why is the image in the king's dream in the form of a man?

The image in the king’s dream is in the form of a man because it is described as having human body parts: a head, shoulders, belly, legs, feet, and toes. Daniel tells the king he saw a great image, a humongous likeness of a man, which requires that human form.

Les explains that when Daniel comes back before the king and recounts the dream, the great image must be in the form of a man because it is going to have head and shoulders, belly and legs, feet and toes. He sees in his dream some kind of humongous likeness of a man. The setting is Daniel standing before the king as he prepares to give the interpretation.

Daniel 2:31

Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
