Why does Jesus' statement about Daniel settle whether the Book of Daniel is trustworthy?

Jesus' statement settles the Book of Daniel's trustworthiness because in Matthew 24:15 He cites the abomination of desolation as spoken by Daniel the prophet. If Jesus is the Eternal Creator, Sovereign Almighty, and author of Scripture, His explicit identification of Daniel as a prophet puts His stamp of approval on Daniel as genuine prophecy.

Les explains that although there are other evidences Daniel aligns with the canon and is proven to be a legitimate book of prophecy, the best proof is Matthew 24:15. There Jesus, during His earthly ministry, refers to the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel, calling Daniel a prophet. Because Jesus is the Eternal Creator, Sovereign Almighty, and author of Scripture, His own word settles the matter; no conjecture is needed. He has put His stamp of approval on the book of Daniel as prophecy. Daniel, written about 607/606 B.C., then unveils the Gentile empires coming down through history.
