What did God promise Israel after bringing them out of Egypt?

After bringing Israel out of Egypt, God made them His covenanted people and promised that if they were obedient and became what He wanted, they would be a nation of priests. Every Jew was intended one day to serve as a priest of God, bringing pagan Gentiles to know Him.

Les explains that as soon as God brought Israel out of Egypt, they became His covenanted people. God told them that if they would be obedient and be what He wanted, they would be a nation of priests. A priest is a go-between between man and God. Every Jew was intended at some future day to become a priest of God to bring pagan Gentiles to a knowledge of their God. Les ties this to Exodus 19 and to the Old Testament prophetic timeline: all prophecies concerning Israel run continuously through the 490 years, and Israel could have been the priests they were promised to be if Christ had come and set up His kingdom.
