What is reconciliation with God?

Reconciliation with God is what happens when a sinner who was separated from God is reconciled to God through the work of the cross. At salvation, the sinner makes peace with God; the enmity ends, and he is no longer an outcast but becomes God’s child.

Les explains that reconciliation is when you, the sinner who was separated from God, were reconciled to God through the work of the cross. You made peace with God the day you took His offer of salvation. There is no longer that enmity, and you are no longer an outcast so far as He is concerned; you are now His child. This peace with God is made at salvation. Then, as you walk the Christian life, you can have outpourings of the peace of God. That peace passes all understanding and is beyond human concept; only the believer ever understands what it is. It keeps your heart and mind, even though you may go through adverse circumstances.
